Dunkin Donuts!

Today's first was not as enjoyable as I anticipated it to be!  How is that possible you ask?  Did you NOT go to Dunkin Donuts?  Well, yes, I did!  BUT, it was actually very stressful.  I am very much a creature of habit.  I could never see a new type of food or new restaurant for the rest of my life, and it would not bother me a bit.  As long as I know there is salad, pizza, fruit, cereal, Moe's, and the occasional cheeseburger out there you can color me happy.  SO, when I go into some place new, or at least new to me, and have all of these unexplored choices, it blows my mind.  It's kind of like shopping.  Too many choices and I freak out.  Plus, the donut that I got wasn't even that good.  I think I much prefer Daylight Donuts.  I must say that my kids had been begging to go there since it opened a week or two ago.  Normally, we do not go the donut route as they may single handedly may be the worst food for you nutritionally, and trans fat wise.  I will get up on my soap box about trans fats another day, so don't let me forget.....

Good news, the coffee was GREAT!  So, that made me happy.  However, the coffee was served in a styrofoam cup.  That made me unhappy.  I'm going to have to look into some kind of reusable coffee mug there because it is just so terrible for the land fills, environment, the EARTH!!  Wake up people and quit using disposable products and water bottles.  Despite what you think, MOST of the water bottles that you so diligently put in your recycle bin do NOT get recycled and end up in the middle of the ocean.  Did you know there is just a mass of trash consisting largely of water bottles the size of texas out in the middle of the ocean?  Is this the planet we want to leave for our kids and grandkids?  I seriously hope not.....

Ok, off my soap box, whew, didn't see that one coming!  Oh, and for those of you that I didn't tell already.  I saw a toddler, a boy, at DD this morning.  He was 2, at best.  And his left ear was pierced!!!  WTF?????  Seriously????  People!  OMG!  Why would you ever think that was a good idea???  Well, I guess after looking at the parents it didn't seem too much of a stretch, but man, so shocking.

Ok, so, todays FIRST, Dunkin Donuts.  And by the way anyone out there, chime in and post comments on any of these topics that you feel speak to you!!!  That's the main reason I started a blog!!!

  1. Fortunately my kids have no idea what DD is yet. I do believe donuts are fried death. i have been using that phrase since the early 90's. They do have really good coffee but my issue is that you have to go into the store to get it around all that fried death! Did you know that at DD in CT that if you order a regular coffee (which in CA means caffeinated black coffee) that you get coffee with 2 creams & 2 sugars? Darrell and I are curious if this will be true of DD in NC. One of these days I will go in and test it out.
