The subject for today my peeps is "accountability". You see, part of my telling everyone that I am doing something new every single day is that if I
didn't tell you all, I probably would not follow through. The same goes for weight loss, or working out, and many other things. If you don't hold yourself accountable in some way, for things that you are not naturally motivated to do, then chances are you will not do them. That my friends, is setting yourself up to fail. What I propose to you is that if there is something that you want to accomplish, WRITE IT DOWN. Then, support your goal with all the ways you can possibly think of to hold yourself accountable. Let's say, you want to start working out 5 days a week. The best option is to find someone who is accountable in this area and see if they will drive with you to the gym (or walk with you, whatever), and give them strict instructions not to let you bail. NO EXCUSES. Another supporting factor would be, lets see.....ok, say you REALLY want to buy a new pair of shoes. You make a deal with yourself that you do not get the shoes unless you work out 5 days a week for a month or two. NO exceptions. And breaking that up into smaller, weekly goals. Lets say you want to go to a movie this week. You do not go if you did not get your workout in. You get it? Make sense? Now you can apply this to other areas of your life. Like, if you have a room in your house that is just a PIT. And I
know you know what I mean. Everyone has a "
that room", I know I do. And I need to hold myself accountable for cleaning that. As a matter of fact, I am saying right now that I'm going to tackle a pile of stuff that has not moved in 6 months. Ahh, now I'm motivated! Get it? Now plan to succeed and do it!
So, for todays "first", I had some kind of peel that I do not know how to explain. My wonderful mother sent me money to "pretty myself up" for a wedding reception that I'm going to this weekend. Yea, I still need shoes, and to get my hair done, and nails, etc., but I figured the money would be best spent on my face. Right? LOL! Why not? It was great, loved it, and love the expected results. But did not foresee the aesthetician telling me that I should not exercise for 24 hours. whoops! Did I forget to mention that I had a trekking and then a cycle class this afternoon? So, she sold me this spray (yea, I know, SUCKER!) and told me if I start to sweat (um, if? Has she met me?) and my face starts to burn (burn! wtf??) that I should spray this lavender stuff on my face. Yea, that was quite a visual in my mind. "Uh, hold on guys. I know you are going to blow a lung, but I'm just gonna spritz my face, K? You just keep on going!" Well, great news is, no burning, no red face and screaming in agony (at least not from the peel), but I'll be ready with my spritz the next time: )
So, bedtime for me. THAT is todays FIRST! Thanks Mom!
