The Office

Today's first will be occurring as soon as I finish typing this entry......I will be watching "The Office".  I know, it's totally a show that would be right up my alley, but I just rarely watch t.v. anymore that it's just hard to find the time.  So, I need to make this short and get to the couch....

However, I want to take a moment to report that I actually climbed up to the top of the climbing wall tonight.  Yeah me!!  Kegels do come in handy when you are about 20 feet in the air, and totally relying on a rope to stop you from plummeting to the ground!!  I am very proud of myself as I honestly did not know if I would be too scared to get to the top or not....note to anyone who wants to try it.  It is FAR easier to have someone belay you than to use the auto belay.

Also, had my eyebrows threaded today.  Wow, feels like I actually got a haircut instead of just getting some eyebrows yanked out of my head.  As I was putting Sydney to bed she says "Mommy, do you have a unibrow?  I do.", and I told her, "I did this morning, but not now!".  Then she said, "how do they get the eyebrows out of your forehead?"  I told her.....and now I think she's going to have a unibrow for life....

Happy to report the eyeball is doing much better and did not feel like it was going to pop out of the socket as I climbed....

*Special Note*
Have you ever heard of the ripple effect?  You know, how one thing causes another thing, which causes another, and so on and so on?  Well, this was my "soap box" conversation during class tonight.....Just think.  Every time you interact with someone, you have the opportunity to make them feel good, or make them feel bad.  If you make them feel good, then hopefully they will carry that home with them, and make their kids or a loved one feel good, etc.  BUT...when someone makes you feel bad, it just brings you down and you are a little more likely to bring someone else down, and so on and so on, thus, creating a ripple.  So, think before you say something to someone.  Stop and think.  Is this going to bring them up or down?  Do I want to ruin their day or make their day??????

  1. Deb, I totally subscribe to the ripple effect theory. Sometimes I have a hard time controlling my mouth, though, before I get a chance to think of how it will effect the other person. I need to get better at that. Thanks for trying to help us improve ourselves!

  2. I totally believe it too...I see a lot of people every day and no matter what environment I'm in, I take it upon myself to smile or say hello...you know what I find... most people will not even look you in the eye, which is very sad to me; however, the people that you can get to look at you, when you smile and speak, their face comes to life...it's an amazing power!!! I'm sorry I missed the story in class!!! I hope you are teaching next week...

  3. WHERE did you find a threader around here? I used to have that done when we lived in Toronto - never have been able to find anyone here that practices. It's SO MUCH BETTER!!!

  4. There is a girl down Falls of Neuse who does it. First visit is $20, and then only $12 after that!
